The Human Exposure Monitoring Committee meets a minimum of four times per year. Their task is to design and instigate a long-term human exposure monitoring strategy that answers questions about the quality of the air people are exposed to in their daily lives.

The committee membership is open to all existing WBEA members and also includes representatives from Alberta Health and Wellness and Health Canada.

It is this committee that identifies monitoring methods, recruits volunteers, sets up sampling schedules, and communicates the program and its results with the WBEA Board, aboriginal and non-aboriginal communities, and other stakeholders of Wood Buffalo.
